    Comments:

I really liked this bike. It was very comfortable and I found myself riding 12 to 18 miles a day very quickly. But within the first few rides the chain started jumping the front cog. Then one of the pedals blew apart. A trip the LBS and everything was fine for a few rides. Then the chain started jumping the front cog again. A few rides later 2 broken spokes on the rear wheel. At this point I asked the BS for a credit towards another bike. They where very accommodating. I really loved the bike but it just wasn't reliable.

          • Uneven Surfaces

          Comments:

I'd been out of cycling since '96. I needed something that i could just jump on and go without dressing up in the whole road bike rigamarole. This is perfect! It's light, makes no squeaks or other noises, has nice crisp shifting, brakes work like a charm, and corners pretty well for a non-road bike. The fat seat accomodates my middle-aged derriere and the upright handle bars prevent me from "hunching over"- i stay upright and comfy.I purposely didn't get a model with front shock absorbers, i believe this is just a sales gimmick. Shock absorbers might add comfort if you're riding over an exceptionally uneven surface, like in the woods, but who really rides in that kind of environnment anyway? Besides, most shock is absorbed (or *not* absorbed) by the wheels. The fat tires on this bike aptly absorb most road shock. After being a lifelong "roadie", riding on fat tires makes a remarkable difference. For riding city\park roads and trails, especially the Cuyahoga Valley, this "suspension system" works splendidly. At [$], this is a great bike. It rides like a $2,500 bike. Looks sharp, too, the linear blue is a great looking color. Highly recommended. The good folks @ Century threw in a water bottle, T-shirt, & installation of a kick-stand (purchased seperately). They tuned & tweaked it, too.
